On 5th May 2025, photographers from across South Wales gathered at the picturesque Drovers Rest, Llanerch Y Coed Farm, for a unique and creative experience: Shoot the Style – Wedding Edition.
This wasn’t your typical workshop. It was a day designed for photographers who wanted more than just a lesson – they wanted inspiration, real-world shooting opportunities, and the chance to connect with other passionate creatives in a stunning location.

A Beautiful Location for Creative Photography
Set in the rolling Welsh countryside, Drovers Rest offered the perfect backdrop. From rustic barns and open fields to stone buildings and beautifully styled indoor spaces, it gave every photographer a variety of scenes to work with. Whether you were capturing wide landscape shots, intimate moments between couples, or styled details, every corner of the venue was packed with visual potential.
We wanted attendees to feel inspired the moment they arrived – and the setting delivered that and more.
Styled with Intention
The heart of the workshop was all about creating editorial wedding content – the kind of images that stand out in portfolios, websites, and Instagram feeds. We teamed up with an amazing team of local wedding suppliers who helped style each scene with precision and flair.
From bridalwear and florals to table décor and accessories, everything was thoughtfully curated to reflect current wedding trends while offering timeless elegance. We had two real couples on the day, styled as brides and grooms, allowing photographers to capture natural moments, romantic interactions, and striking portraits in different lighting setups.
A Hands-On, Guided Shooting Experience
Throughout the day, photographers worked through different stations and scenarios, each with its own creative setup. There was no pressure or rigid instruction – instead, the emphasis was on exploration and creativity.
For those who wanted a bit more guidance, we were on hand to provide posing tips, composition advice, and lighting suggestions. Whether it was how to direct a couple, use natural light to flatter your subject, or shoot for storytelling, there was plenty of opportunity to learn through doing.
And because everyone was shooting at their own pace, it allowed for genuine creativity and experimentation.
